Jeļena Kordzeva

I am Jeļena Kordževa, a Latvian writer, a member of the Latvian Writers’ Union since 2016, and the author of more than thirty books for children and adults. My works have been published in Russian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Ukrainian, and English.
By education, I am a mechanical engineer and a lawyer.
However, literature has also become an important part of my life. I have been writing since 2009, and during these years I have written more than thirty books for children and adults.
At first, I focused exclusively on professional publications, reference books, a textbook, and even a study programme that I not only developed but also taught for many years at the University of Latvia.
Later, I turned to fiction: a historical novel, detective stories, science fiction, and short story collections covering a wide variety of themes.
The experience I gained across different literary genres eventually became the foundation for creating the OWLS TALES® Educational System – Children’s Life Orientation.
After my grandchildren were born, fairy tales entered my creative world. At first, they were simply fairy tales. But little by little, there were more and more of them. Their characters began appearing from one story to another, and this is how the OWLS TALES® universe (Owl Tales) came into being.
